The Feast of the Epiphany

The Diocese of Buffalo Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministry Recognize outstanding youth and adults who support youth ministry. In November 2011 there was an award presentation , showcase of youth ministry highlights, reflections from Bishop Kmiec and theme basket raffle!

All were invited to Witness the Spirit…

. . . witness the enthusiastic spirit of our faithful young people
. . . witness the caring and persevering spirit of dedicated adults who work with them
. . . witness the evangelizing spirit of youth ministry in our diocese
. . . witness the supportive spirit of our own Bishop Kmiec who gathered with the young church that evening

Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser for Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry at St. Vincent de Paul will be sponsoring the annual Pumpkin Patch. Come get your Autumn pumpkins for decorating. The sale will begin on October 9, 2011 and run through October 31, 2011. Proceeds will be used to support upcoming youth events such as the Diocesan Youth Convention, Winter Retreat and many other youth activities.

Hours of operation will Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to dusk

Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to dusk.

Games, food and music will be available during the weekends.

INTER-GENERATIONAL FAMILY EVENT – Thank you from the Staff and Volunteers in Life Long Faith Formation. We had a great time and we hope you did too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Keep an eye out for our Lenten Inter-generational Family gathering!

What is it? Whole Family Faith Learning

Where is it? Parish Center—Faith Formation Center, St. Leo Worship Site

Who? Everyone in the family from kindergarten to adults (at least one parent is required to attend with youth). It is required for all Faith Formation Students.

When? Watch for upcoming notices for our Lenten Family Event!

PATHWAYS To Parish Vitality

The Buffalo Diocese is sponsoring an initiative to GROW OUR PARISH. The Parish Council and Staff attended a training workshop at Christ the King Seminary and is currently working on new ideas for the parish.

We have formed a new Baptism Team who will help young parents journey through the Sacrament of Baptism. Contact Pat DeVantier 716-297-5010, ext 207

In January there will be a Catholic Mom’s group for mothers of all ages. This group will share ideas for raising children, help each other develop a strong faith as a family and bond in fellowship through relationship with one another. We are looking for Mom’s who would like to become part of the team, please contact Annie Esposito 716-297-8310

A men’s group has been formed that will help the men in our community learn more about their role as husbands ,fathers, and grandfathers in a Catholic family. Contact Deacon Mike 716-946-7685.

Conference Vision Statement: Inviting youth into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit through a call to embrace the heart and mission of the Church

We live in a culture that easily seeks identity in the things of this world, which are sending us messages of appealing false, half-truths and counterfeits that seem to promise joy in this life. Rooted, we will emphasize that true identity is in Christ. To authentically live the abundant life that God calls us to, it is very important to remain “rooted and built up in Him” as a daily journey of receiving God’s Truth. The image of roots denotes strength, stability, and growth. The Sacraments and prayer are a living and effective source of strengthening our roots for the Christian journey ahead.
